I needed a little time away from work and the beach was calling my name. Looking around for cheap flights, I stumbled on a flight to Pula Croatia about a month out. Booked it leaving friday morning with a return on monday out of Frankfurt Hahn. For the first time decided to try Airbnb since I was not travelling alone. The total price of 130€ per person flight/accommodation worked out.
About two hours flight and we landed in unexpected cold, rainy and windy weather. We were not prepared, showed up in shorts and super light shirt on. The Airbnb host gave me a call offering to pick us up and even waited while we grocery shopped.
The euro carried a lot weight there, exchange rates were awesome for us. Did not break the bank spending our Croatian Kuna. Our weekend consisted of cooking our food, public transportation to the beach. Long days lounging in hammocks, sun bathing poolside, napping on large beds overlooking Havajka beach. Sightseeing around the area and late night dinners.
We spent some well needed downtime in Croatia. If you get a chance and looking for a small , laid back beach town then give Pula a try. If you’re looking to party this may not be the place.
